Abstract:
The pipe-end straightness is regarded as one of the critical control targets of the steel pipe production.Taking a seamless steel tube production line as the experimental unit, the method for measuring pipe-end straightness based on the laser profiler scanning technique is discussed here in the article. A geometric measurement model-based self-correcting method is proposed to solve the problem of laser band misalignment as caused during the steel pipe straightness measuring process by the installation error of the measurement device, and the site vibration. Thanks to the said correction method, the steel pipe profile data can be real-time on-line compensated so as to correct the error as caused by the misalignment, and make the measurement accuracy up to 0.1 mm.
