Abstract:
Studied are the influence of different Si and Mn alloy contents on the mechanical properties, microstructure, hardness, and wear resistance of the seamless steel pipe. The micro-structural properties, the phase transformation temperatures and post-quenching wear resistance of the four as-hot-rolled and as-normalized experiment steels are compared to each other. The results show that when using Mn alloy to improve wear resistance, the steel pipe has good comprehensive performance and wear resistance,if the Mn content is controlled within around 0.9%;excessive Mn content reduces the impact toughness of the steel, while rather low Mn content reduces the quenching hardness of the steel, both of which are detrimental to wear resistance of the pipe;when using Si alloy to improve wear resistance, the wear resistance of steel pipes is optimal;the wear resistance of the hot-rolled steel pipe as normalized and quenched is better than that of the hot-rolled steel pipe as directly quenched.
