Abstract:
Four applicable standard specifications for the seamless steel linepipe as used for submarine coiled pipe laying service are compared. The specific requirements as under different standards for the C-Mn seamless steel linepipe for submarine coiled pipe laying service are identified via comparisons of the critical indexes concerning chemical composition, mechanical properties, geometric dimensions and surface quality, etc. And it is revealed that the requirement for the strain aging is described in all the four standards for simulation of deformation of the coiled pipe, likely strict specifications for the after-strain aging properties of the steel pipe are also described. Therefore how to control the properties of the steel pipe as repeatedly bend-deformed is the key to design and produce the seamless steel pipe for coiled pipe laying service. The research provides reference for development and actual production of relevant seamless steel tubular products.
