Abstract:
Addressing the problem of erosion wear staying with the slurry transportation piping,a new type hotrolled,air-cooled bainite wear-resistant seamless steel pipe is researched and developed. Owing to the optimization of the chemical composition of the steel,and the technical innovation of the straight thread connection,the material properties and the process efficiency have been enhanced coordinately. The high hardness of the material is ensured,and at the same time its plasticity and toughness are remarkably improved,resulting in the pipe’s yield strength ≥758 MPa,and 0 ℃impact energy ≥32 J. Thanks to the employment of the air-cooled bainite steel-making process which possesses advantages like simplified process and low cost,and the application of the innovative straight thread connection as developed,the said steel pipe has been successfully used in a certain copper tailings treatment project in Africa. The actual operation data show that the annual erosion wear is less than 0.20 mm,and comparing with the conventional welding process,the construction duration is shorted by 70%.
