Abstract:
Addressing the perforation leakage acc ident of the seamless steel pipe of the buried oil pipeline at a certain station,a systematical analysis is performed. The testing and inspection results indicate that the physiochemical properties of the failure pipe fully conform to relevant requirements as specified under applicable standard;the root cause for the leakage of the seamless steel pipe is the local damage of the external anti-corrosion layer which leads to the consequence that the dissolved oxygen in the soil causes electrochemical corrosion of the pipe’s outer surface, and in turn corrosion pits are formed, and gradually extending into the inner wall;and furthermore the presence of the certain chloride ions in the soil and the formation water of the pipe trench remarkably speed up the pitting corrosion and perforation of the pipe body. Based on the above mentioned analysis result, counter measures are proposed, including strengthening the inspection of the integration of the anti-corrosion layer, and improving the monitoring of the soil environment, etc.,providing the important reference for the safe running and maintenance of the similar pipelines.
