Abstract: Reviewed here in the article are the overall operation situation of the domestic steel tube industry in 2024，involving such fields as production，consumption，import & export trade and technological equipment progress etc. Meeting the serious challenges associated with the overcapacity and the homogeneous competition，in-deep analyses are conducted respecting the industry’s prominent problems concerned with the involution risk，the green low carbon transformation and the extension of the industrial chain，etc. Accordingly it is proposed that based on the technological innovation，and from such dimensions of controlling disorderly expansion of production capacity，speeding up the digital intelligent transformation，developing high added value new product，strengthening energy-saving and emission reduction， optimizing market layout and expanding the industrial chain，etc.，relevant specific paths and strategies need to be explored so as to realize the high end，intelligent，green high quality development of the domestic steel tube industry so as to provide the reference and guidance for the future sustainable development of the industry.
