Abstract: Since the 13th FYP，significant progresses have been made with respect to both the production equipment and the process technology of the domestic seamless steel-making industry. Described here in the essay in details are the development status of the said industry during the 13th and 14th FYP periods，involving such aspects as phasing out backward production capacity，the development of the small-sized mill，the large and medium-sized rotary rolling mills and the extra-large sized expanding mill，and the achievements as for the billet hot-transport and hot-charge process technology，the TMCP process for hot-rolling of the seamless steel tube，the rolling process of the alloy steel，the manufacturing technology for the metallic composite tube as well as the achievements of digitalization and intelligenization.
