Abstract: To substitute locally made parts for the spindle box of the imported pipe layer sawing machine installed in Pangang Group Chengdu Seamless Steel Tube Co., Ltd., the drive characteristics of the box are analyzed; the engaging characteristics of the bevoloid gear and the calculation formula for the parameters involved with the gear are described; the computer program for calculation of the geometric parameters of the gear is developed.
