Abstract: There is a lot of problems with the application of traditional solvent based paint in the steel pipe industry,such as low production efficiency,serious paint film damage,severe pollution,poor safety and high energy consumption. The fundamental principle and application equipment of UV curing coating are described and also it is compared to the performance of traditional solvent based paint. The economic efficiencies of UV Curing coating are analyzed in many aspects such as equipment investment,direct coating cost,energy consumption,product quality and SHE. UV Curing coating can be used as an upgrade alternative product replacing traditional solvent based paint in steel pipe coating.
