Abstract: The method for design of the pointing tong is developed on the basis of analysis of the technological characteristics of the radial slide block type pointing machine of the Ф 114 mm CPE pipe mill located at Hankou Steel Rolling Plant, Wugang Group. Relevant operation practice shows that with the said design method, satisfactory pointing operation is ensured so as to get both the yield and availability of the push bench mill considerably enhanced.
