Abstract:
Comparatively analyzed in the article are GB/T 10561-2005
Determination of Contents of Nonmetallic Inclusions-
Micrographic Test Method Using Standard Plate and ASTM E 45-2013 Standard Test Methods for Determining the Inclusion Content of Steel to identify the similarities and differences, and accordingly proposal for revision of the standards for determining nonmetallic inclusion is put forward.GB/T 10561-2005 describes the micrographic evaluation method using the standard plates for determining the nonmetallic inclusions of the rolled and forged steel goods with compression ratio ≥ 3, while ASTM E 45-2013 specifies a number of methods for determining nonmetallic inclusions of forged and rolled steel goods. There are more or less differences between the two standards in terms of standard composition, applicable scope, test method, standard rating plate, specimen selection, inclusion classification, and evaluation method and result presentation, etc. However they are basically similar when it comes to such issues as selection of field of view, amplification times and rating limit for inclusion, etc.
