Abstract: Based on an analysis concerning effect by titanium on cracking of 18-8 type stainless steel shells, technological solution involving treatment to reduce Ti content was taken to eleminate the said cracking. Relevant long-term operation has proven that the said measure is more effective than the conventional solution involving increasing Ti content to lower Cr/Ni.
