Abstract: The rapid development history of seamless steel pipe production and equipment in our country from the early days of new China to today is summarized and the current situation of "excess production capacity,vigorous market competition,material and energy shortage,environmental protection pressure and meager profit or even loss" are analyzed. Some suggestions for the development of small,middle or large sized seamless steel pipe enterprises are proposed respectively and some profound thinking about the target of how to make our country into a powerful steel pipe state on three aspects of production technology & process,equipment design & manufacture and production organization & management.
