Abstract: Briefed in the paper is the overall developm ent situation of the iron & steel industry and the steel tube-making industry of Russia in 2012. Also elaborated are the production situations of the country’s major steel tube makers in the same year. In 2012,the demand from Russian oil and natural gas market place for large-sized electric-welded tubes was reduced,while the yearly output increase tendency of the steel tube industry which had been kept till the last two years stopped. Furthermore,due to the huge slide in capacity of large-sized electric-weld steel pipes,the total capacity of steel pipes in the country fell,after the rise,to a level bellow 10 million tons,and all the major steel tube manufacturers suffered more or less fall down of steel tube sales amount.
