Abstract: Based on comparison of Standard JJG139-1999 and Standard ASTM E4-03(Method C), it is concluded that the said two standards are equivalent to each other in terms of calibration method for the universal tensile testing machine, which provides relevant theoretic basis for calibration of the universal tensile testing ma-chine to inspect steel tubes as made according to API Spec.5L.
