Abstract: Since the rotary hearth heating furnace plays a critical role in the manufacturing process of steel pipes,whether its design is proper or not will directly affect pipe quality and the pipe rolling cycles.Elaborated here in the article are proper determination of the design data and the billet arrangement angle in the hearth,the design of the furnace bottom masonry structure as well as the selection method for the D-value of the hearth center,etc.Also put forward is a new feasibility solution for drying out of the furnace.The actual operation of the furnace as designed with the average diameter of 24 m are satisfactory.
