Abstract:
Using a CT80 coiled tubing as the base material and adopting the induction quick-heating hot-dip aluminizing process,a crystalline Fe-Al alloy heat-resistant/wear-resistant layer and a pure Al corrosion-resistant layer with compact structure are formed on the coiled tubing surface in a very short time. The mechanical properties of the CT80 coiled tubing are tested by tensile test, expanding test and flattening test. Its fracture is analyzed by SEM and EDS and corrosion resistance evaluated by HIC test. The tests show the following results. The strength of an aluminized coiled tubing is significantly decreased compared to that of an un-aluminized one. After the tensile test and expanding test, the Al layer on the surface of the aluminized CT80 coiled tubing came off,but the Fe-Al layer was well bonded. And after the flatteing test, the Al layer came off and the Fe-Al layer cracked. Moreover an aluminized CT80 coiled tubing is not sentsitive to HICtest.
