Abstract:
Analyzed and compared in this essay are several conventional high-efficiency SAW processes widely used both at home and abroad, including wire extension, cold wire-filling, pre-heating wire-filling, single power source-twin wire-single arc series, single power source-multi-wire-multi arc paralleling, and collinear wire array. And the results show that flexible and rational application of the above mentioned techniques in SAW will not only further increase the welding efficiency without any detriment to the welding quality, but also particularly reduce the welding heat input notably, which are significant for improving the thermal cycle of the weld and HAZ, refining grains and enhancing toughness therein.
