Abstract:
Describe in the article are the current development situation and characteristics of the Accu-Roll pipe mill and the Assel pipe mill. It is pointed out these two pipe mills have been regarded as the mostly-selected mill types for technical upgrading or brand new mill building projects of domestic small and medium-sized steel pipe makers owing to their commonly-shared advantages namely, mini rolling flow, low initial investment for the equipment, easy size change-over, wide product range and suitability for small quantity and multi-type orders. A comparative analysis of the two pipe mills is made, involving such aspects as the development histories, equipment structures, technological characteristics, deformation features, product varieties and size ranges as well as initial investments etc., based on which suggestions for necessary improvement on the mills are proposed.
