Abstract:
Basing on the chemical composition of a low carbon alloy steel drill rod material, a high strength high toughness UH165 drilling pipe material is developed by studying the alloy elements ratio and the heat treatment process, optimizing the microstructure of the material an so obtaining a better strength and toughness ratio.The results of the research and the experimental evaluation show that the mechanical properties, the metallographic structure and the hardness testing results of the UH165 high strength high toughness drilling pipe material after quenching and tempering can meet all the requirements;and the bending fatigue strength of the material in atmosphere under room temperature is about 703 MPa, higher than the normal acceptance criteria which is 50%of average tensile strength.
