Abstract: A brief discussion on domestic consumption structure of steel tubes since ’80s is made, concluding that consumption of weld pipes has been recently higher than that of seamless steel tubes. Weld pipe firms should catch up such a chance to take necessary actions addressing the market demand of weld pipes, such as expanding service scope, optimizing internal structure of weld pipe industry, tapping potential market and promoting production of weld pipe products like boiler pipes, oil well pipes, long-distance crude oil and natural gas linepipes, high strength low alloy structural pipes, coated pipes, cold-processed pipes and stainless steel pipes.
