Abstract: The discussion deals with the existing problems relating to conventional manufacture processes for billets for tube-making and the horizontal continuous casting process for small-sized billets for tube-making. Also put forward are the proposals involving manufacturing small billets for tube-making with large-sized CC squares and CC-HDRs. Based on the analysis it is concluded that the proposed processes would be much better than the process for rolling blooms with ingots in terms of technical and economic benefits.
