Abstract: Based on the result of the theoretic research on welding pool shape and temperature field,the spatial distribution of the welding wires in the twin-wire straight SAW process is determined,featuring 12~15mm centers of the two wires,25~30mm stem extension and a specific inclination between the wires.Relevant operation shows that maintaining the proper spatial arrangement of the welding wires during operation will ensure satisfactory weld seam quality.
