Abstract:
The properties of the one pass-formed upset end of the N80-1 externally-upset tubing are analyzed by means of such methods as hardness test,microstructure test,ambient temperature tensile test,charpy impact test and SEM notch scanning,etc. The properties of the base material of the pipe body and those of the material of the upset tube end are compared,and with the comparison result it is verified that the one pass-formation process is capable of producing the N80-1 externally-upset tubing as conforming to the requirements of API Spec 5CT. Finally,in the essay,it is suggested that hi-temperature tempering heat treatment should be made to the upset end of the externally-upset tubing as one pass formed.
