Abstract:
The testing procedures for the anti-SSC linepipe with a minimum nominal yield strength as 450 MPa(65 kpsi)are elaborated here in the paper, including preparing the SSC specimen with the 4-point bending method, performing SSC resistance evaluation, ultrasonic flaw detection, impact testing and metallographic analysis, etc.It is identified by the evaluation test results that no flaw or cracking is found with the said SSC specimen via the ultrasonic detection. And the specimen properties are not obviously reduced, and has no sign of HIC, having very good antihydrogen penetration property. The local micro-corrosion found on the specimen surface is regarded as homogeneous corrosion, and the corrosive product is FeS.The said linepipe has homogeneous structure composed of fine grains which is capable of stopping further hydrogen expansion, thus has significant effect on the SSC resistance of the material.
