Abstract: The cause responsible for the development of the defective inner surface grey band of the 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel rotary pressed pipe is analyzed based on related experiments, and the possibility of formation of（Cr, Fe, Ni, Ti）₄C₃ （twin crystal） discussed, too.
