Abstract: Elaborated in the article is the general current situation of domestic seamless steel tube industry,and the fact that although the nation is developing from a large nation into a powerful one,the industry is leading it to become a nation with extreme shortage of steel tubular resources. To counter such situation,the main causes for the tendency of economic profit declination of domestic seamless steel tube industry analyzed,and relevant countermeasures are proposed,including gripping control of the investment scale,eliminating the backward production capacities,speeding up corporate consolidation and merger to enhance the concentration level of the industry,further replying on technological progress,strengthening enterprise management,reducing manufacturing costs of steel tubular products and restructuring the product mix,increasing product added values,seeking approaches for overseas development of the industry,and avoiding anti-dump sanction,etc.,in a bid to prevent the country's turning from a seamless steel tube giant into a dwarf in the field.
