Abstract: Discussed here in the article is the technique of EAF-melting of holo-Al-containing steel for linepipe purpose,focusing on control of the holo-Al content and the problem of nozzle block of the CC machine as resulting therefrom.The laws of Al content changes in different operation stages of the melting process are identified by trials,and thus the control range of the final Al content in molten steel at the LF refining stage is deter-mined.Accordingly,relevant process control actions are worked out and implemented,resulting in effective control of the holo-Al content in the product,and solution of the problem of steel built-up-caused nozzle block of the CC machine as well.
