Abstract:
Analyzed here in the paper are the advantages and the disadvantages of the formation process for the clad steel pipe.Addressing the characteristic quality of the crude oil that contains corrosive medium of the targeted overseas oilfield, the X52NS/852 metallurgical clad steel pipe is developed by means of using the home-made X52NS/852 rolled clad steel plate as the blank, and employing the JCO formation process and the PAW+SAW+GTAW integrated welding process. All the major performances and properties of both the body and weld seam of the said clad pipe are inspected and tested, including chemical composition, tensile property, impact property, hardness, HIC and SSC resistance of the base metal as well as pit-corrosion and inter-granular corrosion resistance of the cladding layer, etc.It is proved via the test results that the X52NS/825 metallurgical clad pipe as developed is in possession of all the performances and properties as better than what specified under relevant technical specification, being capable of servicing as the ground piping of the oilfield highly containing sulfur and salt due to its good mechanical properties and corrosion-resistance.
