Abstract: The book gives a brief introduction to the 100 years’ seamless steel production history （1855～1951） and especially describes the invention of cross-rolling piercing mill and pilger mitl by Mannesmann brothers and the findings of conical roll and barrel roll piercing mills by Stiefel.
