Abstract: Modification was made to the speed-control system of the DC driven pipe-drawing mill at the seamless steel tube division of Anyang I & S Group Co.,Ltd.,and now the said modified system is capable of automatic speed control of the mill in a mode of low-speed biting and high-speed drawing. Relevant operational practice has shown that thanks to the said modification,the mill’s productivity is increased,tube end-breaking rate is reduced,and yield is heightened. The technique is also suitable for AC driven pipe-drawing mills.
