Development of CB140V Casing for Service in High-strength Shale Gas Well

Analyzed here in the article are the service conditions and failure types of the casing as used for shale gas production,based on which the CB140V casing for shale gas production is designed and developed.Taking the Φ139.7 mm×12.7 mm pipe as an example,the casing for shale gas production featuring hi-strength,hi-toughness,hi-dimensional accuracy and hi-collapse resistance is developed due to the efforts concerning such aspects as material design,rolling process optimization,research on heat treatment process,and improvements on both dimensional accuracy and collapse resistance.The casing has successfully passed the trial operation in the oil field with satisfactory result.
