Development of TP960E Extra-high Strength Seamless Steel Pipe for Crane Jib Purpose

Described here in the article is the development ideas of the TP960E extra-high strength seamless steel pipe for making the crane jib,including use of the designed chemical composition with low C content,and addition of such elementsas Cr,Mo,V,Nb,Niand Wtoproperly control thecarbon equivalentsoasto ensureexcellent weldability of the pipe;adopting the continuous rolling-transferring control process to ensure the high dimensional precision of the finished pipe;using the submerged internal spray quenching+hi-temperature tempering heat treatment process to ensure well-mated strength and toughness of the pipe;and grinding and polishing the pipe outer surface to get excellent surface quality thereof.
