Effects by Laser Deposition and Heat Treatment Processes on Microstructure and Properties of TC11 Titanium Alloy

Abstract
The TC11 alloy is prepared with the laser deposition process,and the effects on its microstructure and properties by the laser power and the solution temperature are studied. As a result the facts as following are revealed.Along with the increasing of the laser power,the strength of the alloy is increased,while the plasticity of the alloy is decreased. When the solution temperature is rising from 950℃up to 970℃,and after the solution is aged,both the transversal and longitudinal microstructures and properties are getting more and more homogenous. And while the solution temperature reaches up to 990℃,the anisotropy of the alloy gets increased. Accordingly the best strength and plasticity of the alloy can be obtained by means of the solution aging heat treatment process,i.e.,holding at 970℃for 1 h plus air cooling and holding at + 530℃for 6 h and plus air cooling.
