Present Development Situation and Future Outlook of Domestic 2-roll Rotary Piercing Technology

Systematically summarized in the paper is the present development situation of the domestic 2-roll rotary piercing technology based on the two technical dimensions,i.e.,the equipment and the process. It is regarded that the equipment technology of the domestic 2-roll rotary piercing mill as developed up to now has been qualified to represent the current world level in the very field no matter the design ability,manufacture level,production and operation status or the equipment performance. For the said rotary piercing mill as the primarily selected mill type at present,it is suggested to realize in the future the technology upgrade of the mill in terms of optimization of the process design and production cycle,and development of intelligent piercing technique in a bid to satisfy the higher requirements by the user with respect to product quality,production efficiency,production cost and product varieties.
