Effect by Pipe-end Swaging Process on Properties of Oil Casing with Premium Connection

After the Φ114.30 mm×7.37 mm P110 oil casing with premium connection is processed with the pipe-end swaging process,the mechanical property test of the pipe body and air-seal evaluation test of the joint are conducted. The test results show that the said pipe as swaged still has its mechanical properties in compliance with applicable API Spec 5CT requirements,and successfully passed the ISO 13679 physical evaluation test.The test research proves that the performance of the above mentioned premium connection oil casing as pipe-end swaged with certain deformation amount still meets the design requirements after pipe-end swaging as well as the application requirements for complex well conditions in oil fields.
