    Effect by Ovality and Wall Thickness Unevenness on Collapse Resistance Strength of Casing

    • Along with the continuous improvement of the requirements for reliability and service life of various oil casings, stricter requirements are put forward to analysis of the collapse resistance of the oil casing. Besides the strength of the material proper, the other parameters as affecting the collapse resistance of the casing include the ovality and wall thickness unevenness, etc. Taking the Φ101.6 mm×7.8 mm sample casing as the object, the calculation model for the casing collapse strength is set up. Thanks to the said model, the FEA method is used to conduct simulation computing of the casing collapse strength, and analyzing and verifying the effects by the ovality and wall thickness unevenness on the casing collapse strength so as to provide both experiences and guidance for properly selecting the casing and further developing the high anti-collapse casing.
