Design of Last Stand Pass of Sizing Mill for Seamless Steel Tube

Abstract
Described here in the essay is a design method for the last stand pass of the sizing mill for the seamless steel tube. Starting with the data as gathered via actual pass designs, and using the excel formula calculation and the functional relationship, the equation for design of the sizing mill pass is set up, based on which the relationship between the design value of the sizing mill last stand pass and the actual dimensions of the steel tube is determined, and in turn the relationship between the different factors as affecting the outlet temperature of the sizing mill and the said design value is deduced so as to get the regression equation applicable to the design for the sizing mill last stand pass. The final rolling temperature and the expansion coefficient as calculated with the abovementioned method are almost in line with the actually measured values, which means that the method is applicable to on-the-site production.
