Abstract
Since the perforation failure of a gas transmission pipeline has affected the normal production of the station. the failure causes are analyzed. The result shows that the water sedimentation of the gas field with high Cl-content leads to point corrosion of the piping which inevitably leads to the perforation at the weld area;the said inclusion aggregation and the water sedimentation of the gas field with high Cl-content jointly causes point corrosion of the piping that in turn develops into pit corrosion of the metallic matrix. Based on the causes for the corrosion perforation, countermeasures are proposed, including properly controlling water sedimentation of the piping-located gas field, improving the anti-corrosion process with the inhibitor or adopting applicable anti-inner corrosion material with excellent wear resistance.
