Method for Measuring of Notch Axis-edge Angle of Charpy Impact Test Specimen

Although in GB/T 229-2020 and ASTM A 370-2022, the notch angle, notch depth, and the notch axis-edge (notch symmetry plane-specimen longitudinal axis) angle of the Charpy impact test specimen are required, but there is no specific description of the measurement method. Elaborated here in the paper is the method for measuring the notch axis-edge angle of the Charpy impact test specimen. Thanks to the method, the said notch angle can be accurately measured without any instrument, which improves the accuracy of the tests. Featuring easy operation the measurement method has been successfully applied to production inspection, being worthy using as a reference for the same trade or occupation.
