    Production Equipment and Process Technology Development of Domestic Rotary-rolled Steel Pipe

    • Described here in the paper are the statuses concerning the imported and domestically and independently designed and manufactured rotary-rolling pipe mills like the disc rolling mill,the precision rolling mill and the 3-roll rolling mill in the country. Also analyzed here are the improvement and innovation during the iterative development of the rotary rolling mill,and relevant existing shortcomings. Moreover the future development trend of the equipment and process technology of the rotary rolling pipe mill are discussed. Accordingly it is pointed out that the rotary-rolling mill is in possession of a number of advantages,including high wall accuracy of the product,flexible production organization,proper production output,economical investment and suitability for small batch and multi type production,etc. particularly,the superiority of the 3-roll rotary rolling mill in production of heavy and medium wall pipes,which can not be substituted by any other type of the pipe mill. It is suggested to upgrade the exiting rotary-rolling pipe mills in the future on the basis of the new pipe-rolling technologies,processes and the intelligent construction technology,and to concentrate efforts in R & D of professionalized pipe types based on the pipe-maker's superiority.
