A Study on the Continuous Roll Bending Process of Titanium Welded Pipe

    • This study focuses on the continuous roll bending process of the Φ168 mm titanium welded pipe. Through numerical simulation and experimental validation,a comprehensive analysis is conducted on the influences of forming speed and inter-stand distance on forming resistance, stress, and strain. The results indicate that at forming speeds ≤5 m/min and a reduced inter-stand distance of 700 mm,the forming resistance of the titanium welded pipe significantly decreases, while forming stress and strain are maintained at low levels, leading to a remarkable improvement of the forming stability. Furthermore,a detailed analysis of deformation during the forming process highlights the susceptibility to instability due to the edge tension-compression effect, resulting in defects such as edge waves and bulges. Finally, the feasibility of the numerical model is verified through numerical simulation and experimental comparison, providing guidance for practical production of the titanium welded pipe.
