Abstract
Constructed is the framework for application of the additive manufacturing fused deposition modeling(FDM)technology to the steel pipe-making industry, and analyzed are the flow process and characteristics of the additive manufacturing. Furthermore the application scenarios of the additive manufacturing in the steel pipe-making industry is discussed. And proposed are the low-cost emergency substitution method for using the FDM to manufacture the non-standard structural part, the liquid level-control component, the electric component and the pneumatic fitting. The related applications are also described. Application of the said additive manufacturing technology can bring about the quick fixing of the fault and low-cost substitution of the component, being helpful for achieving the hi-efficiency, low consumption ratio and green production in the steel pipe-making industry.
