IMPROVEMENT OF DRIVE COMPONENTS OF Φ100mm PLUG PIPE MILL

The modification of the Φ100mm plug pipe mill located at the Yantai Steel Tube General Plant,Shandong focused on the mill’s bakelite bush and the wobbler sleeve which were replaced by rolling bearing and slide-block type universal joint. The roll strength and rigidity were checked. The modified drive system has advantages namely,better tube quality,less machine failure, reduction of water consumption,smooth running and lower noise level,which results in a much better working enviornment.
