Development and Application of TP-JC Premium Thread Connection

Addressing the problems related to the API EU externally-upset thread connection such as excessive stress, hard screwing up, and poor reworkability, etc., the TP-JC premium thread connection for oil tubing/casing featuring good gas-tightness and high cost effectiveness is developed. Here in the paper the development and application result of the premium connection are detailed.This newly-developed product has been ISO 13679-certified, and relevant physical tests have been also conducted to it as per Specification 2002 CAL II(simplified version), and its performance against thread galling, tightening integrity, and structural completeness have been up to the product design criteria. Moreover, the in-well operation and tightening testing have been performed in the oil field.
