Behavior of Nitrogen in Converter Melting Process of Steel for Tube-making

Briefed in the paper is the melting with converter process of steels for tube-making purpose by Pangang Group Chengdu I ＆ S Co., Ltd., covering main steel types, the process flow and equipment. Also analyzed are the changes of nitrogen in the liquid steel in different melting steps and influences by different meting conditions on N content in the molten steel. Accordingly, relevant technical actions are proposed to control the pick-up of nitrogen in liquid steel in different operation steps of the converter process.
