    Application of Powerful Spinning Process to Manufacture of Large-diameter Steel Pipe for Gas Cylinder Service

    • Briefed here in the article is the general situation of domestic production of the seamless steel pipe for the large capacity cylinder.Introduced are the technological characteristics of the powerful spinning process for making such tubes.Also analyzed are the application aspects, technological feasibility and the economy of the said process.It is pointed out that compared with relevant advanced foreign production level of the pipe, there is still a rather large gap in terms of volume-weight ratio and transportation efficiency of the cylinder.To meet the increasing domestic demand for the light-weight gas cylinder it is practical to produce the large-diameter, extra-long seamless steel pipe for gas cylinder service by means of learning from the advanced experiences of relevant foreign manufacturers, and applying the powerful spinning process with supplement of the opposite roller spinning and floating mandrel techniques.
