A BRIEF STUDY CONCERNING IMPROVEMENT OF PLUG PIPE MILL'S PLUG LIFE SPAN

Plug life span of the plug pipe mill is associated not only with inner/outer surface quality of the pipe, but also with cost effectiveness.In addition to chemical composition, steel structure and process conditions of the plug, surficial oxide film of the plug also affects life span thereof significantly.It is concluded that proper setting-up and control of the technological conditions with respect to manufacture and application of the plug should be the main approach to increasing the plug service life.
