ABAQUS Premium Connection-based Optimized Design of Thread Parameters

A certain Ф244.48 mm×11.99 mm premium connection is analyzed with the ABAQUE finite element(FE)simulation software so as to study the effect by different thread parameters on the structural integrity and the sealing integrity thereof.And the parameters of the premium connection are optimized,resulting in parameters i.e.,pitch:4~5 tooth/in;bearing surface angle:-4°~-3°;guiding surface angle:10°~25°;nose end length:13~20 mm;and conical surface/curved surface-matched sealing surface.The analysis result shows that the optimized premium connection model features good joint strength and excellent sealing performance,and that the thread connection performance is better than a certain home-made premium connection,and a certain foreign-made well-known premium connection as well.
