Abstract
After water-cooling, the pickled steel tube is stuck with some ferrate on its surface. As a result, during hot-dip galvanizing, when the ferrate stuck pipe is put into the galvanizing aid, the agent is spoiled with the ferrate, which directly produces negaive influence on the quality and performance of the coating and increases zinc consumption as well. To clear the ferrate out of the galvanizing aid so as to reduce zinc consumption, the orthogonal design method was used to investigate and determine the main elements responsible for negatively influencing separation of ferrate from the said aid. As a result, a rather practical process for this purpose has been set up.
